Quality Assurance / Quality Control Program
Micro Analytical Laboratories, Inc. maintains a comprehensive and sophisticated Quality Assurance Program (QAP), modeled after EPA manual SW-846 and EPA. Quality checks at the analytical level include the use of calibration blanks and standards, method blanks, laboratory control samples, matrix spike and spike duplicates and duplicate samples. We participate in EPA's DMR, WS and WP Performance Evaluation programs for liquid matrices. For solids, Micro Analytical Laboratories, Inc. participates in the Environmental Resource Associates Performance Evaluation program. For airborne samples, Micro Analytical Laboratories, Inc. participates in the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA-LAP, LLC) Proficiency Analytical Testing (PAT) program. For paint chips, solids and dust wipes, Micro Analytical Laboratories, Inc. participates in the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA-LAP, LLC) Environmental Lead Proficiency Analytical Testing (ELPAT) program.
Although not required to, we pay an outside organization to submit double-blind check samples to our laboratory departments. As an additional check on quality control, our internal QA Department submits single-blind check samples to each analyst on a quarterly basis. We also measure quality through our turnaround success rate.
